Breaking News Monday, October 13th, 2059: RL Honors Hammersmith Third Baseman This week Gavin Fisher, third baseman for the Hammersmith Hooligans, slashed, mashed and bashed his way to the Republic League Player of the Week trophy. Fisher put up a .480 average as he pounded out 12 hits, 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and scored 8 runs. In 162 games this season Fisher has batted at a .319 pace with 209 hits and 40 home runs. Monday, October 6th, 2059: Number 400 for Fisher Hammersmith's 23-5 victory over Chico was highlighted by Gavin Fisher's 400th career home run. His teammates congratulated him at home plate after he circled the bases. "I didn't see all of them out there," Fisher said with a chuckle, "until I rounded third base." He added sheepishly: "It was only a home run. It's not like I won us a World Series!" In 6 at-bats the Hooligans third baseman collected 3 hits in his historic game, scored 4 runs, and had 6 RBI. Monday, September 15th, 2059: RL's Best Player, Davenport of Hammersmith This week's top performer in the Republic League was center fielder Michael Davenport of the Hammersmith Hooligans.
