| FOOLX News: The Offseason Begins
Wednesday, October 29th, 1997: It's time to turn the page. Another exciting season of FOOLX baseball is behind us, but there won't be time for reminiscing. Like everything else in baseball, the offseason is a time for action. Roster and financial moves, trade proposals and the upcoming winter meetings are all demanding the attention of general managers. While players head for well-deserved vacations, GMs across FOOL-X are already hard at work determining the next steps for their team.

 | Defenders Beat Aztecs in FOOL Classic
Monday, October 27th, 1997: It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "To the victors go the spoils." Cumberland got the FOOL-X FOOL Classic trophy today with a 3-1 victory over Mexico City at Cumberland Stadium. The Defenders won their 1st championship after taking the series with the Aztecs 5-3.
"They've got grit!" one fan said. "They know how to win when they have to. They're the League Champions!"
The new titleholders completed the regular season with a second-place finish in the Republic League and a 98-64 record. |
