| Breaking News |  | Thursday, October 7th, 2055: Hot Bat Cooled, Kobayashi Hitless Against Assassins Akinori Kobayashi's 25-game hitting streak has now come and gone. It was snapped today in the Cyclones 1-0 setback to the Assassins. Kobayashi went without a hit in 3 trips to the plate. Talking to BNN after the game he was visibly upset. But the streak had little to do with it.
"I'm disappointed we lost, I'm not one bit disappointed that the streak ended," Kobayashi said. "The hitting streak was just one of those things where it was fun while it lasted, but I'm not going to lose any sleep tonight."
