Front Office Offseason League News Article | |  | Monday, September 3rd, 2057: Great Day for Palmeiro, Hits for Cycle In Boston's 9-1 win today at Ballpark of Boston, Felipe Palmeiro roughed up Halifax pitching in a big way. The 31-year-old right fielder hit for the cycle, rapping out a single, double, triple and home run.
"What a good day! And my parents and family were here to see it, too," a beaming Palmeiro said after the game. "I really got some good looks today and delivered. Sometimes you're just locked in."
He finished his historic day with 5 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBI and 1 run scored.
F. Palmeiro singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run triple in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off J. Humphrey in the 8th.
Thus far this season Palmeiro is hitting .313 with 16 home runs, 91 RBIs and 74 runs scored. He has 159 hits in 508 at-bats and has played in 126 games. | |
